For the second year in a row, Panera Bread has helped raise money or the Hoag Hospital Foundation. The restaurant and bakery chain donated $25,000 in support of the Mary and Dick Allen Diabetes Center, with the help of a dozen Orange County Panera location participating in the fundraiser.
The Allen Diabetes Center, which is located in Newport Beach, uses a variety of programs to help patients with diabetes, including those who are pregnant or young adults who have Type 1 diabetes.
The center’s program director, Dr, Daniel Nadeau, says that he has always been impressed by the healthy, diabetes-friendly menu offered by Panera bread, and that their contribution once again reflects Panera’s sensitivity to the needs of the community.
