Con artists are biting at the bit as the Affordable Care Act lunges forward as a ship on to shores. These pirates are ready to steal people’s money by obtaining their personal information.
Uninsured Americans can utilize a health insurance exchange to shop for coverage.
Monica Lindeen, Montana’s Commissioner of Securities and Insurance warns, “There are fake exchanges already up and running on the Internet.” Lindeen further advises, “If you do a search and type in ‘exchange,’ you’ll find all sorts of websites that claim to be in the exchange when they are not.”
These scam artists, for the past year, have already been taking advantage of the national health care restructuring, calling US citizens claiming they represent Medicare and other federal government agencies.
